Phase-dependent nonlinear-interaction strength from Junker et al., arXiv 2606.00216 (2026).
Abstract
Compact standing-wave optical parametric oscillators are attractive squeezed-light sources, but nominally similar devices can exhibit widely different thresholds. This work shows how crystal-edge termination, wavelength-dependent coating phases, and the cavity resonance condition coherently shape the nonlinear gain. Measurements on three linear optical parametric oscillator systems reveal threshold variations of up to nearly six-fold and provide phase-aware design guidelines for reproducible, low-threshold squeezed-light sources.
